8th Annual NAPM-Memphis/Ronald McDonald House Golf Tournament slated for September 14th
Please mark September 14th on your calendar for the 8th annual NAPM-Memphis, Inc. / Ronald
McDonald House Charities golf tournament at Memphis National Golf
Club. The format will be a 4-man scramble with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start. There will be door,
long-drive and closest to the pin prizes as well as a "shot" at $500.Breakfast (sausage and
bisquits) as well as a buffet lunch is included in your green fee. Non-alcoholic drinks will be
provided and alcoholic beverages can be purchased on the course.
Ronald McDonald House of Memphis
provides a home-away-from-home for children (and families) with catastrophic
illnesses being treated at St Jude. RMH receives no financial assistance from
St Jude so they are totally dependent upon the donations of individuals,
corporations and fund-raisers such as this. Because of your support and
generosity, this event has delivered over $50,000 to date.
If you or your company can donate
prizes or provide sponsorship of any level, it will be deeply appreciated. We
again need your support for another successful event. You do not need to send
in a form (yet) but please indicate if you plan on participating and your level
(below) of support.
1. Corporate Sponsorship (Includes (4) Green
Fees) $1,000
We're pushing for at least 30 teams
this year. Can we depend on you sponsoring a team(s) in 2009? Please let us know your intent as we are trying
to get an estimate for the
course and for
gift planning.
Also, if you have any suppliers, friends, relatives or
others you (or
we) can solicit for
sponsorship or participation, we would be happy if you would share that
information with us. We really want to break the $10k barrier for RMH this year
and need your help to accomplish this goal.
Looking forward to seeing you
there,
A. Gary Lemmons,

History of NAPM Memphis: 1944 to Present
The original group of purchasing practitioners convened at some time during the early years of World War II and called themselves the Shelby County Purchasing Agents Association. Records indicate that the majority of those members were women, apparently because of the war. The first president of this group was H. R. (Pappy) Graves of the National Fireworks Company. click here for a complete timeline of the development of the NAPM Memphis affiliate
